NIGERIA JUDICIARY A SHAME TO DEMOCRACY

It is no longer news about the arrest of judges, the show of shame by the judiciary in respect to the contradicting judgement given by the same court with the same court of jurisdiction. The judiciary has mocked our democracy. They have made Nigeria look like an amateur in democracy. I wonder if judiciary is still the hope of the common man. A system that wear corruption as a medal, a system full of nepotism and social injustice. What an irony!

One of the problems of Nigeria judiciary is corruption. The Nigeria judiciary has lost its integrity because of corruption. The most recent scandal is the arrest of judges. The worst of it all was that the arrest of judges was debated whether it is legal or not, but that will not be discuss in this article. The Nigeria Judiciary is like Esau who sold his birth right for a mere porridge. Due to corruption by the judiciary, the last hope of the common man is ridiculed. Anybody going to court for justice will have to wait for years before justice will be given to him/her. For instance, the Dasuki’s case, Nnamdi Kalu’s case, these cases has been in court for over a year but the judiciary chose to use what I will call a “delay tactics” in judgement. In most advance countries, this kind of social injustice is unheard of. For instance, prior to the USA election, Donald Trump filed a case in respect to the election, the court  gave an immediate judgment but I know in Nigeria the case will be adjourn. Corruption has made the judiciary to look helpless. Two courts of the same jurisdiction can now pass contradicting judgement. Corruption has made Nigeria Judiciary to loss its respect. Disobedience of court order is now the order of the day. It is a pity!

Nigeria Judiciary you have lost everything that makes you pure. Your independence has been toiled with. The poor masses no longer have hope. Come back and start afresh for Nigerians will accept you. Come and restore your dignity. You are indeed the hope of the common man.
