HUSBAND STABS WIFE OF 20 YEARS TO DEATH AFTER HE DISCOVERS SHE'S HAVING AN AFFAIR

For Stuart Gallear, 51, and his late wife, Mandy Gallear, 42, their story is not the happily ever after every couple hopes for when they get married. The couple's marriage of 20 years ended on October 6 last year when Stuart stabbed Mandy repeatedly with a kitchen knife at their home in Hindley, near Wigan in England.

Stuart had just found out his wife was having an affair with his mate a day before and he lost it during an argument with her and stabbed her then he quickly called for an ambulance but by the time it came, Mandy was found unresponsive on the kitchen floor. Stuart is being tried in Manchester Crown Court.

The problem between the Gallears began in 2009 when the couple migrated to Canada with their two daughters but the move was not a success and three months later they were back in the UK. Stuart became depressed after they returned and began drinking excessively thereby neglecting his wife and daughters.

GUNMEN KIDNAP WIFE OF EDO STATE OIL AND GAS COMMISSION CHAIRMAN

Mrs Augustina Uwadiae, a staff of Egor Local Government Council, in Edo State, was abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers last Friday.

The victim, who is the wife of the Chairman, Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission (EDSOGRADEC) Mr Vincent Uwadiae, was kidnapped at Ugbiyokho community on her way home from work.

Mr Uwadiae, who confirmed the incident on telephone interview with journalists, said that her kidnappers were yet to make demand for ransom payment.

ABIA POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED KILLERS OF ‘BAKASSI’ MEN IN ABA

Commissioner of Police in Abia, Mr. Leye Oyebade, says the command has arrested three kidnap suspects involved in the gruesome killing of four members of the state vigilance group known as Bakassi in Aba.

The deceased were reportedly attacked by the assailants, who allegedly ambushed them on Aba-Owerri Road around 4 p.m. in February.

The Bakassi men were said to be returning to their office in their operational van when the hoodlums reportedly opened fire on them, killing three of them on the spot, while the fourth person died later in the hospital.

The vigilance group allegedly drew the ire of the hoodlums, after it reportedly foiled their attempt to kidnap a prominent businessman in the city.

I HAVE NOT DEFECTED TO APC- UDUAGHAN

A former Governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, on Monday dismissed reports that he had dumped the ruling Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress.

Uduaghan, in a statement by his media aide, Mr. Sunny Areh, said the report was aimed at causing disaffection between him and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the PDP and the Federal Government.

One Mr. Tony Oritseje claiming to be Uduaghan’s Press Secretary, in a statement at the weekend, revealed that the ex-governor had joined the APC ahead of the 2019 general election.

Another statement, which was credited to an unnamed media aide, rejected the first statement, claiming that it was authored by the Uduaghan.

SENATOR'S SON RAPES A 7 YEAR OLD GIRL TO DEATH IN TARABA STATE

A 7-year-old girl reportedly died yesterday, after she was raped anally by the 21-year-old son of a Senator in Taraba State. It is alleged that her internal organs was destroyed as a result of the rape.

However, when the incident was reported to the boy's dad, he got the father of the raped girl who is also his guard arrested, alleging that he (his guard) wants to ruin his political career.

The girl, Talatu Musa Paul, died yesterday while she was being wheeled in for her
second surgery. It is also alleged that her dad who has been locked up for long, doesn't even know his daughter is dead.

VICE-PRINCIPAL ADMITS TO IMPREGNATING HIS 16-YEAR-OLD STUDENT IN NIGER STATE

A Minna Magistrates’ Court on Monday ordered the remand of a 51 year-old-man, Mohammed Kuyizhi, in prison for allegedly impregnating a 16-year-old student.

The Magistrate, Fati Auna, ordered that Kuyizhi, the Vice Principal, Government Day Secondary School, Tunga-Minna, be remanded after he denied committing the offence. She adjourned the case till April 5 for further mention.

The prosecutor, Abdullahi Maiyaki, had told the court that the complainant, a
junior student in the school, alleged that the defendant had sex with her three times in his office.

NIGERIA POLICE THREATEN TO ARREST MASQUERADES

The Enugu Command of the Nigeria Police Force Command has warned masquerades and their assistants against assaulting, harassing, and intimidating Nigerians in the state under whatever guise.

This warning was given by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, in a statement he signed and issued in Enugu on Monday.

According to Amaraizu, the police would arrest anyone caught committing any offense under the guise of masquerade displays and festivals.

He noted that the command had continued to say that people’s rights should not be infringed upon in any show or festivity.

A Nigerian doctorate student at the International Islamic University, Malaysia (IIUM), Adedeji Abiodun Liadi, has died. According to reports, he slumped while jogging on the campus field. He was rushed to the school's medical facility where he was pronounced dead.

Popularly known as ‘Olubadan’, the deceased hailed from Ibadan, Oyo State. He was 44 years old.

He was a lecturer at the Department of Economics, National Open University Nigeria (NOUN), Lagos. He was buried according to Islamic rites at the Muslim burial ground in Malaysia, with hundreds of people in attendance.

Celebration turned sour after an SUV Utility car conveying relatives of yet to be identified persons getting married on Saturday afternoon in Ibadan was involved in an accident that claimed the life of two.

According to DAILY POST. It was reported that the SUV which was among the cars in the convoy conveying the relatives of the couple got involved in the road mishap killing the duo on the spot.

The accident occurred at Academy Area along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

MAN BEHEADS MOTHER IN ABIA

Tragedy struck at Umuchagu Osokwa in Osisioma Ngwa council area of Abia State when a man, said to be in his early 20s, beheaded his mother, collected her blood and fled the community.

The victim, identified as Cecilia Nwanjie, was said to have returned from the farm at about 6.30pm, last Thursday, to meet her son who visited home.

After exchanging greetings, Cecilia, according to a community source, went into the kitchen to prepare dinner for the family.

Vanguard reports they gathered the victim had been living alone since the death of her husband, Nwanjie Onyerionwu, and engaged in menial jobs to make ends meet as her two sons live outside the village.

THE WICKEDNESS OF LIFE: MAN IMPREGNATES DAUGHTER, DUMPS BABY IN WELL IN BAUCHI

A 55-year-old man in Gamawa Local Government Area of Bauchi State has been arrested along with his 20-year-old daughter for attempted murder.

The man, Abdulkadir Mohammed, was said to have had sexual intercourse with his biological daughter, Dije Abdulkadir, and then threw the baby into a well after the girl gave birth.

The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, Garba Umar, while speaking to journalists in Bauchi, said the suspects were arrested by police officers attached to Gamawa Division.

Umar said,

“The suspect gave birth to a baby girl and threw her inside the well with the intent to kill her. However, the timely intervention of well-meaning individuals in the area, who helped and rescued the baby alive, saved her life.

Just as hot food hurts the tongue, pride does not favour any relationship. The tongue might endure the hotness of the food for a while but it gets to a point when the teeth would crush the food against all odds.

Carrying yourself arrogantly high among your counterparts and colleagues actually hurts a lot but some people try to endure hoping that things will change. But after a while of enduring and dying in silence, they’ll come at you, hit you so hard in a way you’ll never expect. In whatever it is you do in life, be humble, it pays. Humility does pay a lot, but don’t mistake humility for foolishness. It pays to be humble.
