NIGERIA IS SINKING UNDER BUHARI - APC GROUP CRIES OUT

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Rebirth 2019, a support group within the ruling party, has declared that Nigeria is fast sinking under president Muhammadu Buhari amid “unprecedented” economic woes.

In its letter to Buhari and some APC leaders, including Bola Tinubu, the group called on the leaders of the party to urgently intervene to save the situation.

The European Union (EU) yesterday, condemned and rejected the unilateral classification of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a terrorist organisation by the Nigerian Armed Forces. The Defence Headquarters of the Nigeria Army on Friday declared IPOB a terrorist organisation, claiming that its members had become violent and a security threat in the country.

Legendary soul singer Charles Bradley, who was known as the "Screaming Eagle of Soul" because of his raspy voice and stirring performances, has died at the age of 68.

Bradley died in New York on Saturday, September 23, 2017 surrounded by family, friends and some of his bandmembers.

According to a statement on his website, 'It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Charles Bradley. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time'.

The soul singer was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2016, and he started performing on the road this year after receiving a clean bill of health. The United States Government has said it does not consider the Indigenous People of Biafra a terrorist organisation.
Last week, the Federal High Court in Abuja gave a judicial backing the executive order of President Muhammadu Buhari, outlawing the group and its activities in the country.

The court granted the order to proscribe the group on Wednesday.
It declared that the activities of the group constituted acts of terrorism.

The police at Ikotun Division have arrested two women and detained them at the station while the third suspect escaped, for their unruly behaviour by publicly fighting over a man for sex in Lagos.

The incident happened at a popular joint at Governor’s Road by Landmog Bus Stop in Ikotun area of Lagos State. The suspects identified as Amaka, Chioma and Blessing were said to have engaged in a public brawl after a customer who came to drink at the joint indicated interested to take a woman home.

Its still unclear why they fought – The viral video shows two ladies fighting dirty, stripping themselves and pulling their hairs while men and other ladies who seem not to want the fight ending anytime soon were seen taking photos.

Police officers from the eThekwini Inner South Cluster, turned down a bribe of R100 000 and apprehended three suspected drug dealers who were found in possession of 1.5kg of cocaine worth an estimated R350 000 during a planned operation.

At least 49 people were reported killed on Tuesday, September 19 as a 7.1 magnitude temblor shook Mexico, causing buildings to tremble and collapse.

The disaster coincides with the anniversary of a deadly 1985 earthquake which shook central Mexico. Tuesday’s quake struck at 1:14 p.m. Just hours after a siren signaled an annual earthquake drill in Mexico City, the ground began to shake, walls buckled and residents fled into the streets. The Lagos state police command yesterday arrested eight (8) members of a notorious cult group that specializes in terrorizing the residence of Lagos Island. A 55-year-old old man named Bashiru Adeyanju, has told a Magistrates’ Court in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, that he and two native doctors raped his teenage daughter because he wanted to become rich.

Adeyanju, who was arrested on September 11, confessed to raping the girl nine times for money ritual but insisted that he and the native doctors raped his 17-year-old daughter.

A fake currency syndicate which was busted by the Osun State Police Command, were paraded yesterday by the State’s Commissioner of Police at the police headquarters in Osogbo.

According to the Police Boss, the suspects will be charged with printing fake currency and duping unsuspecting members of the public.
